Productivity is a Good Thing

I feel like I got a lot done today. I got my Avon corner sort of organized and sorted a bunch of books (2 Avon boxes to donate). Then watched the Titans pull yet another one out of their asses, this one in OT no less. (Rob Bironas ROCKS!)

I feel like I have a lot I need to do still. Most of my remaining to-do list deals with planning: my 1Q Avon business plan, my household finances plan, my job search plan for when this contract job ends, my writing plan for the year…

I signed up for WriYe, a sort of post-Nano endeavor to keep the writing mojo going for the other eleven months. I committed to writing 125,000 words during 2010, which includes finishing this year’s Nano novel as well as my previous unfinished Nano novels. I also want to write some short stories, because I really love that form. And some of the people I met in October at the South Carolina Writers Workshop inspired me to try my hand at poetry.

Time’s marching forward, though. I need to get on with my planning if I want 2010 to be more productive than 2009.

There oughta be a law

It should be illegal to get sick during Nano. I came down with this sinus infection/head cold thing on Wednesday, after work, just as I was planning four whole days of writing.

Wednesday night: 1458 words. Thursday: drowsy Turkey Day and lots of TheraFlu. Friday: on the computer finishing the setup for the blog, collapsed into bed, exhausted. Saturday: sleep, about 12 hours’ worth. Sunday afternoon: 2554 words, then watching the Titans pull out a win, then sleep.

Word count is now at 22,598. And I still feel like death eatin’ a cracker.

Haven’t decided about work tomorrow yet. Hoping to feel better, but torn between working and writing. If I feel like this in the morning, I’ll be sleeping some more. Ugh.

Starting a blog is like starting a new journal. Doesn’t matter how many you’ve started before, this is the one you’re going to keep up.

I had a blog on blogger but didn’t post very often. Now I can’t even remember the password for it. But I’ve been encouraged lately to try it again, so… here we go.

Current nanowrimo word count: 20,044
